LEAGUE SEASON COMPLETED - CUP FINAL FOCUS

Bacup Borough ended their league season with a 2-0 defeat against Shelley FC at the Brian Boys Stadium which saw Borough finish the league campaign in tenth position on forty-five points.

The postponement of matches and changes to the fixtures calendar have created a lack of momentum and consistency in Borough's ability to gain valuable points both at home and on their travels.

The manager will now spend the next few weeks contemplating his cup final squad

It must be said that lapses of concentration and mistakes at crucial times in games have also added to Brent Peters team falling short of their intended targets. Thankfully the teams form in the cup competitions has continued in a rich vein, meaning that Borough will defend their Edward Case Cup crown on May 6th against Euxton Villa at Ericstan Park (Wythenshawe Town)

The displays in the cup competitions has shown the capabilities of this Borough side. The performances against South Liverpool FC in the semi-final was a clear illustration of what the lads can achieve when they're all working in unison.

The next few weeks will now be spent focusing on the final with several training sessions/meetings planned between the management team and players in preparation.

Big decisions now need to be made by the manager as to who will be making the squad for the final. The last few games has given Brent Peters the opportunity to look closely at his options and what is needed in order to combat the challenge of Euxton Villa.
