Bacup Borough take the trip to Barrow-in-Furness this weekend hoping to put some valuable points on the board and turn the tide on recent results.
Borough have only managed one point from their last six games. And with injuries becoming a major concern for Brent Peters, somehow that negative run of form needs to be stopped.
Joey Fallon, Mason Fallon, Ellis Horan and Callum Hewitt have all been absent from the Borough squad due to injury, with Hewitt suffering a metatarsal injury which could possibly keep him sidelined for the next five to six weeks. And with the Borough goalkeeper Joshua Brooks limping out of the game with Atherton LR it places even more headaches at the managers door going into this weekend's fixture away at Holker Old Boys.

Peters has wasted no time in finding a suitable replacement for Brooks with the arrival of Billy Blake from Atherton LR. Blake was part of the Stockport County U18s academy before arriving at Crilly Park. Unfortunately the young stopper hasn't been able to dislodge the Atherton LR current number one, making way for his move to the Brian Boys Stadium in time for the trip to Holker.

The manager last weekend called upon the services of experienced defender Ross Mallinson to bolster the defensive department, with Mallinson doing a sterling job at the back alongside Brady Boardman. And even though Borough found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-0 defeat the pairing looked solid and comfortable against the leagues most dangerous attacking forward line.

Brent Peters was hoping to bring in Ryan Siddle to strengthen the squad and add much needed physicality to the team, but issues out of our control have meant that we now have to wait for the leagues decision on whether or not they are going to impose any further punishment on Siddle. This comes after the county FA had already awarded Siddle a one match suspension.
The focus now will be making sure that all those available are ready to travel to Cumbria this weekend to face Holker Old Boys. A team that have got off to a positive start with seven wins, two draws and one defeat. A team full of quality who seem extremely difficult to beat on home turf at Rakesmoor Lane.
Discussing this weekend's fixture the manager remained upbeat ahead of the trip, he said;
"We still have several injury worries in the squad but we can't allow that to get to us. It is what it is. It just means that I will be forced into playing around with a few things to make it fit. The lads coming in will yet again be given the chance to show what they can do. And if they play like they did last weekend for the majority of the game against the league leaders then we've got a good chance of getting something from the game up there."
