BOROUGH READY FOR THE FA VASE

On Saturday Borough travel to the Players Cars Stadium to face Campion AFC in the First Round of the Isuzu FA Vase.

Borough go into the game full of confidence after a string of good results in both the league and cup competitions, but are under no illusion that Saturday's opponents are also in good spirits having started their season undefeated.

During the summer the Bradford club have bolstered their squad with experience. The arrival of former Golcar United front man Ashley Flynn has given them even more attacking options. And being able to persuade Nicky Boshell to commit to another season have added to that wealth of knowledge and leadership.

As for Borough. We enter the game with attacking options in abundance. Since the start of the new season Brent Peters and David Felgate have had the constant headache of having to leave quality on the bench. The likes of Emmanuel Manny, Jack Hayward, Aidan Hussey and Anthony Hall have all had to bide their time for an opportunity to shine.

Talking to the manager about the big game on Saturday, he said; "There's no doubt that this is a big game for both clubs. They have started the season in excellent form, but we are also starting to build up a head of steam of our own.

Brent Peters and David Felgate know the importance of Saturday's FA Vase clash

"We have had a few good tustles over the past few seasons and there's a lot of respect being shared between the two clubs. If we can play to our capabilities we'll certainly cause them some problems."

We asked the manager about the importance of the supporters being there on Saturday. "It's massively important that our supporters are there in numbers. This season so far we have had several away games where we've had more support than the home team. That kind of support rubs off on our players. People call it a twelfth man, but it really is. I have no doubt that they'll be there again cheering us on creating a real cup atmosphere."
