BORO RECEIVE CLUB OF THE MONTH

Bacup Borough were crowned Club of the Month for October with stiff opposition from FC St Helens, Holker Old Boys and top of the league Pilkington.

It was a case of five games and five victories for Brent Peters' men. They started with a 3-2 win over Cleator Moor Celtic in the league and then repeated the feat the following week in the Edward Case Cup. A 1-0 win at Ilkley Town followed in the Macron Cup, followed by two good away wins, at Campion in the FA Vase and Darwen in the league.

Speaking to Brent Peters about the achievement, he said; "It's always good to achieve success as a football club. This award is exactly what it says. 'Club of the Month' meaning that everybody associated with the club is involved. From Debra and the girls behind the bar to Colin on the gate who drives up from North Wales for every single game, this is for them."

"The lads will most certainly take the majority of the plaudits for their performances on the pitch, but at borough we are one. The fans have played a massive part in this award. Constantly travelling in numbers to all our games has spurred the lads on and helped them to dig deep to put in some fantastic individual and collective performances."
