Bacup Borough travel to Thornton-Cleveleys this weekend looking to finish August on a high and return home with another important three points.

The hosts currently sit in second place and have suffered just two defeats so far this season, making this another tough test for Brent Peters’ side.
Borough will be hoping to welcome back Kaiden Barlow, who has been recovering from the injury he picked up during the recent game against Garstang. His availability will be a boost, while Owen Whitehead will also be available for selection.

Kaiden Barlow will be back in contention
With a big week ahead, Borough know that points on the road could prove valuable. Tuesday night sees the side make the short trip to Colne, before returning to the Brian Boys Stadium for a home fixture against AFC Blackpool.
Manager Brent Peters knows his players will need to be at their best against a Thornton-Cleveleys side enjoying an excellent start to the campaign.
“We know we're going into a difficult game against a team that has started the season really well and is right up near the top of the league. They've only lost two games, so we'll have to be at our best from the first whistle.“We're hoping Kaiden is fit enough to be involved, and having Owen Whitehead available gives us another option.
We've got a big seven days coming up, so it's important that we stay focused, compete properly and take each game as it comes.“We want to finish August strongly. We've got three important games coming up and we'll be looking to get as many points as possible. The players know what is expected of them, and hopefully we can put in the kind of performance that gives us a chance of taking something from Thornton-Cleveleys.”
With the league table already beginning to take shape, Borough will be looking to make sure they are part of the conversation at the top end as the season progresses.
