Bacup Borough are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Billy Blake has committed to the club for the 2025/26 season.
The former Stockport County shot stopper has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2026. A signing that the manager Brent Peters was desperate to secure before the young goalkeeper jets off on his summer holidays.
Billy Blake has been in impressive form ever since signing from Atherton LR and playing his first game against Holker Old Boys at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

During last season the Littleborough lad played an influencial role in guiding Borough to the Lancashire Challenge Trophy Final and was a prominent figure in securing valuable points with several crucial saves in key games.
Discussing the signing of Blake with the Borough manager, he said;
"Securing the signing of Billy is a big deal for us. Everybody at the club absolutely love him. From the moment he signed last season he became a fans favourite and a managers dream.
"I've had the pleasure of managing some top goalkeepers over the years and Billy has the potential to become a very good goalkeeper. I see a lot of Carlo Nash in Billy's ability, and we all know what Carlo went on to achieve."

It's quite clear to see that Brent is over the moon to have Billy between the posts for the up and coming season. And with others set to follow suit in the coming weeks the preparations are extremely positive.
